Coco Diethanolamide(CDEA)
Coco Diethanolamide (CDEA) is a non-ionic surfactant derived from coconut oil. It’s also known as Cocamide DEA. CDEA is a clear, viscous liquid that’s amber-colored and has a faint coconut odor. It’s made by reacting coconut oil fatty acids with diethanolamine.

Description
CDEA is on the Proposition 65 list because it can cause cancer. The Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR) Board says that CDEA should not be used in cosmetics and personal care products containing nitrosating agents. However, the CIR Expert Panel concluded that CDEA is safe when used in rinse-off products.
