This medication is used to treat certain mental/mood disorders (such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder). Asenapine helps you to think more clearly, feel less nervous, and take part in everyday life. It may also help to decrease hallucinations (hearing/seeing things that are not there) and prevent severe mood swings.
Description
Asenapine is used to treat schizophrenia in adults. It is also used alone or together with lithium or valproate to treat symptoms of psychotic (mental) disorders, such as mania or bipolar disorder. This medicine should not be used to treat behavioral problems in older adult patients who have dementia.
Preparation
Asenapine Maleate is poorly soluble in water. In present work different formulations prepared by using different stabilizers such as Polyvinyal Pyrrolidine K-30, Tween 80 and Poloxamer 188. The Nanoprecpitation technique is simple, less sophisticated technique.

Asenapine maleate is a white to off-white crystalline powder with a faint characteristic odor, recognized for its antipsychotic properties and primarily used in the treatment of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
