Cresylic Acid is used in wire enamelling. It is also used in thermosetting resins, disinfectants, paint strippers and road surfacing.
Product Description
Cresylic Acid is formulated with the combination of cresols and xylenols with alkylphenols. It is utilized for producing various synthetic resins and herbicides. This compound can also be synthesized by sulfonation or oxidation of toluene. Cresylic Acid also finds its application as a disinfectant and wood preservation. With the chemical formula CH3C6H4OH and molecular weight 108.14, this acid also serves as a precursor to pyrethroid insecticides and for the production of several antioxidants.
